Collett '4575' 2-6-2T (Built 1928)
(Development of Churchward '45XX' 2-6-2T)
The '4575' class is a modified version of the '45XX' class. Introduced in 1927 and built at Swindon works the class was heavier than the '45XX' (61 tons) but like its predecessor were largly used for branch line work where route restrictions prohibited the use of heavier locomotives.
Many of this class were fitted with 'Push-and-Pull'
Identification:- The '45XX' class has a straight top to the front end of its water tanks, whilst the '4575' class has a sloping top.
