Just back from butterfly walk on Rodborough Common with Butterfly Conservation (Warwickshire) where I saw my 51st species the stunning Adonis Blue.

Added images from a walk with Butterfly Conservation (East Midlands) to Aston Rowant and Whitecross Green wood. An excellent day culminating in fine views of the elusive Brown Hairstreak.

Butterfly pics from walks close to my home and a Butterfly Conservation (Upper Thames) walk at Watlington Hill, Oxon for my first sightings of the Silver-spotted Skipper and the very beautiful Chalkhill Blue.

Added more butterfly images from time spent at my favourite 'hairstreak' spot and the only site in Warwickshire where the very impressive Dark Green Fritillary can be seen.

Just back from a week in Devon. Very fortunate to see and photograph the very rare High Brown Fritillary, also had a great holiday!

I was unable to visit Glapthorne Cow pastures on Sunday with Warwickshire Butterfly Conservation to see the Black Hairstreak and so decided to go today, I was handsomely rewarded with some fine views of this very rare butterfly.

Added about fifty photos today. Firstly from a holiday in Devon including trains, birds and butterflies, then from a two day trip to Scotland and the Farne Islands and lastly a day at Collard Hill in Somerset to see the rare Large Blue butterfly - phew!

Had a truly great day which lived up to all expectations. A little bit of sun would have been nice but compared to Cumbria it was a veritable summers day!
